To get to Wollongong University:

About an 8 minute walk to the bus stop directly in front of McDonalds on the corner of the Princes Highway & Bellevue Road.

Take the 11 or 41 bus for a 15 minute journey that drops you off right next to the University Library at the main bus drop off. Bus costs as at March 2019 - $3. 66 on a black Opal card.

Figtree Bungalow is located in our backyard, completely separate from our house in the leafy suburb of Figtree. It is a unique AIR CONDITIONED cabin styled in a beach theme, with own private deck and full use of our backyard and BBQ.

Wollongong Beach is a 6km drive away and there are many other beautiful beaches all the way up and down the South Coast, which are easily accessible.

UOW, Tafe, CBD and Hospital are all within a 4km drive.

Enjoy your own private dwelling, self-contained with private side entrance, separate from our house.

Accommodation is clean, modern and relaxing with Reverse Cycle Air Conditioning, a queen sized bed, fridge, microwave, toaster and kettle.

You have your own luxurious, walk in shower with two water output shower settings and private toilet facilities.

A cheese board and cheese knife is also in the cabin if you'd like to prepare a yummy platter to snack on while you enjoy your stay. Help yourself to our herb garden if you're preparing a salad to go with your BBQ dinner. The BBQ is yours to use as you wish, we have provided BBQ tools and everything you need to clean up afterwards.

Figtree Bungalow is located in our backyard. Simply follow the footpath up to the backyard, your private entry is via the back gate (you will have to navigate a number of steps to get to the cabin as the cabin is significantly above street level). Once you've arrived and settled in, sit back and relax on your own private deck amongst the trees.

We have travelled extensively and know what we do and don't like about accommodation we have previously stayed in. This is why we take real pride and care in offering accommodation that people immediately feel comfortable and relaxed in. Ensuring you arrive to an extremely clean, tidy and fresh place to stay is our top priority.

Listen out for the kookaburras, cockatoos, king parrots, lorikeets and various other bird-life as you relax on your spacious timber deck, equipped with a six seater outdoor table and chairs in a family friendly environment. You may even spot our blue tongue lizard if he/she decides to pop out to say hello! Stay during October and November and you'll be treated to the gorgeous and vibrant purple flowers of the Jacaranda tree as it's in full bloom at this time of year.

There are 4 windows fitted with fly screens and blinds to provide a breeze, as well as ensuring you have your privacy.

Western Suburbs Olympic outdoor pool (free entry) is located only 3. 9km from Figtree Bungalow. Great spot to do swimming training or just go for a splash.

Interaction with guests:

Minimal interaction with our guests as we respect your privacy, however if you need anything at all please let us know and we'll gladly assist. Our priority is that you enjoy your stay and leave us feeling relaxed and refreshed.

Figtree Bungalow is separate from our house with its own toilet and large, luxurious, walk-in shower.

Your own spacious, timber entertaining deck for you to sit back, relax and enjoy your stay.

If coming and going in the evening, that's no problem - the path will be lit up for you with our sensor lights.


The neighbourhood:

Figtree is a quiet and leafy suburb of Wollongong. Only a short drive to Wollongong's CBD, Beaches, University and Hospital.

• 4. 1km to the CBD of Wollongong.

• 6km to Wollongong Beach.

• 80km to Sydney International Airport.

• 600 metres to bus stops.

• 650 metres to Figtree Grove Shopping Centre - includes Coles & Woolworths grocery stores, Kmart, Gloria Jeans, Michels Patisserie, various other shops and Figtree Medical Centre.

• Within 700 metres: Domino's, Fish & Chips, Hungry Jacks, Kebab House, McDonalds, Subway, Thai Restaurant and Figtree Gourmet Kitchen (Italian & Woodfire pizza).

• Within 700 metres: Red Dog on the Green and Figtree Bowling Club (the "Figgy Bowlo" operates a free courtesy bus service that runs every Friday & Saturday nights. Pick ups and drop offs are from 4pm for members and guests). Perfect for lunch, dinner, or a few drinks.


Explore the area:

Mt Keira Ring Track (the track is a 5. 5km walk - allow 3 hours).

Harry Graham Park and Roy Johansen Park are two large, green and leafy parks for walking/cycling/running etc. Both parks are just a moments walk away (with one of them being directly across the road from us), convenient for an evening stroll or a brisk morning walk.

Wollongong Botanic Gardens - well worth a visit and only 5km away.

Easy access to the M1 and local and surrounding areas.


Getting around:

600 metres to the Bus Stop (outside McDonalds on the Princes Highway) which will take you into Wollongong's CBD.

• Route 24 & 39 goes to Wollongong CBD.
• Route 11 goes to the Wollongong University.
